40 Photos from the Grand National Roadster Show
January 25, 2015
Every year, we make our way out to the Grand National Roadster Show, held at the Pomona Fairplex in sunny Southern California. It's the place where the America's Most Beautiful Roadster is crowned, and it's also an awesome place to see hot rods, customs, gassers, low riders and more. Although there are some exceptions, nearly everything on the grounds is sitting on tires and/or wheels from Coker Tire, so it's a great place for us to take a bunch of pictures and show off some of our product. Take a look at our 40 favorite photos from the 2015 Grand National Roadster Show and also, watch our Instagram feed and Facebook page for up-to-the-minute posts from the show!
If you're at the show, or just watching the coverage from the comfort of your home, be sure to watch out for the Rodder's Journal '32 Ford roadster. These guys have a booth in Building 4 (where the AMBR contenders are positioned), and you need to check it out. They are changing tires and wheels each day of the showthe first day was a set of our new Firestone 11.00-16 Dirt Track tires, paired up with some of our front runners. Day two was a set of Firestone 560-15 and 750-16 blackwall bias ply tires, which gave it a much more subdued look. Day three will consist of our Excelsior Stahl Sport radials, sized at 500R16 and 700R18 mounted to a set of Rocket Solid 16x5 and 18x6 As Cast wheels. We'll have more photos from the tire/wheel swap in a later post.
Trends are always set at the Grand National Roadster Showwhat did we pick up on this year? We saw lots of black cars, and maroon carsthe days of flashy paint schemes, and billet wheels are over. Hot rodders tend to be going back to the basics, and it's working. Blackwalls are always a big hit at this show, but we spotted a bunch of folks using our Excelsior tires, as well as Firestone Dirt Track tires. Another trendmore attention to detail on tires, such as painted letters on Firestone tires, which you will see in our 40 photo highlight reel! One of the trend setters in the custom car world, John D'Agostino debuted two new builds at the showa beautiful white Cadillac, and a chopped, dropped and shaved Buick Riviera. Both cars rolls on a set of our whitewalls and wire wheels!!!
