Car shows tend to be predictable, but there's a new show that is quite the opposite. The Triple Crown of Rodding presented by PPG is only in its third year of operation, but it's shaking up the car show world. The two-day event takes place on the weekend after Labor Day and it's held at the Nashville Superspeedway. The wow factor of the Triple Crown of Rodding is the extremely high quantity of high-end custom builds and hot rods. We're talking Ridler winners, AMBR winners, Goodguys winners, and even brand new builds that haven't been seen before. This event brings them all out. Along with the high end judging area, there is a huge gathering of hot rods, muscle cars, classic trucks and more. And you'll find more than 100 vendors on display, including Coker Tire of course. We made a big splash with our Excelsior Roadster bias look radial tires, a perfectly proportioned radial tire for traditional hot rods. When it comes to classic cars, the Tri-Five Chevy ranks highly as one of the most popular segments of the hobby. The 1955, 1956 and 1957 Chevrolet series of cars and trucks are timeless classics, and the Tri-Five Nationals presented by CPP provides a place for like-minded enthusiasts to gather each year. This year was the 10th annual Tri-Five Nationals, marking a great milestone in this relatively new event. Each summer, the show takes over Beech Bend Raceway Park in Bowling Green, Kentucky for three-days of action. A huge car show, dozens of new parts vendors, a big swap meet area and plenty of drag racers fill the rolling hills at Beech Bend. Let's take a look at some of the highlights from the Tri-Five Nationals!

Every summer, the Hemmings Great Race presented by Coker Tire hits the road for nine days and travels 2,300 miles of new territory each year. With the ever changing route, the teams see new cities and new roads each year, and there is a huge influx of rookie teams who want to get in on the fun. The event is complicated and expensive, but it's an exciting endeavor that keeps people coming back every year. For 2025, the event started at the Back to the 50's Weekend car show in St. Paul, Minnesota and traveled to Irmo, South Carolina, through Iowa, Illinois, Kentucky, West Virginia, Virginia and North Carolina. The event featured 17 hosted city stops, and rolled through many small towns and country roads along the way. Every year, the competition intensifies, and this year's event saw tight scores within the Top 5 contestants.

After 9 days of competition, the Grand Champions were crowned in Irmo, South Carolina. It was the father-and-son team of Jeff and Eric Fredette taking the Grand Championship trophy along with $50,000 back home to Illinois. They drive a 1933 Ford Model B pickup truck and they're known for their full throttle turns and flags flying out back. Our Excelsior Stahl Sport radial tires handle the abuse each year.

Second place went to Jody Knowles and Beth Gentry, driving a 1932 Ford Cabriolet, sporting a set of our BFGoodrich Silvertown wide whitewall radials.

Third place overall and First Place in the Expert division was the Coker Tire sponsored team of Gary and Jean Ann Martin in a 1932 Ford five-window coupe. The Martins roll on a set of Artillery wheels and Cooper Cobra tires.

Fourth place went to the father and daughter team of Jeff and Kylie Hermanson, piloting a 1939 Ford pickup truck, featuring a set of our Excelsior Stahl Sport radial tires.

Also rolling on Excelsiors is the fifth place team of Dana and Doug Sharp from Fairport, New York, driving a 1916 Hudson Pikes Peak Hillclimber. 

The NSRA Street Rod Nationals has given hot rodders a place to gather for more than 50 years, and we always enjoy making the trip to Louisville, Kentucky to set up in the vendor building and check out the cool Coker-equipped cars at the Kentucky Expo Center. Thousands of hot rods, customs, muscle cars and more roll into town for a four-day event, and there is always a nice selection of cars that use our products. We noticed a lot of great cars in the Builder's Showcase area, and then of course in the outdoor portion of the show. Whether you like traditional hot rods with bias ply tires, or high tech pro touring cars with super wide BFG's on all four corners, the NSRA Street Rod Nationals has something to put a smile on any car enthusiast's face. When Springtime rolls around, our schedule is PACKED with great events, but we recently added one to the mix that isn't our normal tire sales routine. We jumped in as the title sponsor of the Great Race Spring Rally, an annual three-day rally that takes place in a new city each year. So far, the Spring Rally has been in Auburn, Indiana and Chesterfield, Michigan, and for 2025, the destination was Owensboro, Kentucky. The riverfront area in Owensboro is no stranger to Great Race activities, as it has served as a Great Race evening stop and a Great Race start city. The idea behind the three-day cloverleaf style rally is to give rookies a chance to learn the ropes, while still being able to enter the big Great Race as a rookie team. It also helps veterans get practice for the big show. By the way, the Great Race 9-day rally kicks off June 21st at the Back to the 50s' Weekend in St. Paul, Minnesota and runs 2,300 miles to Irmo, South Carolina. For more than 40 years, the Pigeon Forge Rod Run (previously known as the Grand Run) has been packing the tourist town of Pigeon Forge, Tennessee with thousands of hot rods, customs, muscle cars and more. This spring was no different, as the Spring Rod Run brought lots of action into town during the middle of April. The actual car show takes place at the LeConte Center, and offers lots of great vendors and show cars. The streets of Pigeon Forge are often more action-packed as the parking lots fill with a wide variety of cars, trucks, motorcycles and more. You'll see gassers, Pro Street cars, giant 4x4 trucks, wild rat rods and so much more. The best part about the Rod Run is that it's close to our homebase, so we drove up for the day to snap some pictures of Coker-equipped cars in attendance. Ponies in the Smokies is an annual gathering of Ford Mustangs and other cool Fords (Thunderbird, Fairmont and more). We've been watching this event, because it's growing fast and it's right in our back yard! Held at the Sevierville Convention Center in Sevierville, Tennessee, the event offers nearly a full week of Mustang activities. There is autocross racing, drag racing, mountain driving tours, and two full days of car show action, complete with thousands of cars and lots of great vendors. We checked out the 2025 Ponies in the Smokies event, and wanted to show off some of our favorite Coker Tire equipped Mustangs on hand. There were LOTS of Raised White Letter tires and Magnum 500 wheels, that's for sure. Take a look and make plans to join the fun in 2026!

Every year, the Daytona Turkey Run packs the massive Daytona International Speedway infield with cars, trucks, parts and food. In fact, the Daytona Turkey Run takes place twice a year: a springtime event as well as a fall event that occurs on Thanksgiving weekend. We make the trip to Daytona for both events, and love catching up with loyal customers and making new friends along the way. We're deep into our spring show schedule, but wanted to show off some cool Coker-equipped cars and trucks from the Spring Daytona Turkey Run. 

Every spring, the foothills of the Smoky Mountains come alive in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. The tourist town offers several great car shows throughout the season, and it all kicks off with the Corvette Expo and Chevys in the Smokies. For nearly 50 years, the Corvette Expo has been a hot spot in East Tennessee, and it continues to thrive with the inclusion of other Chevrolet icons, including Chevelle, Camaro, Nova, C10 and more. The Chevys in the Smokies portion of the event features a great selection of restored and unrestored Chevy muscle cars, as well as high-end customs. We made a few laps around the LeConte Center to check out all the action and wanted to pass along a few of our favorites here. 

Dale Flynn's incredible 1957 Corvette "Airbox" is one of only 43 built in this configuration. This car raced all over the world and is now restored to perfection. It rolls on a set of Firestone 670-15 bias ply blackwall tires, a perfect fit for the special 15x5.5 wheels that were part of the big brake package.

Lemonwood Yellow is a perfect color on a '66 Chevelle, especially when paired with body-color steel wheels, dog dish hubcaps and Firestone bias ply redline tires. This immaculately restored Super Sport convertible is a top-notch show car with documentation to prove its pedigree.

The Corvette Expo is always packed with a great variety of Corvettes, from the earliest C1's to the latest C8. It's hard not to love the lines of the C2 generation and this 1967 Corvette convertible (with optional hard top) looks great with side pipes, Rallye wheels and a set of our BFGoodrich Redline radial tires.

One of the very special cars in the Chevys in the Smokies display was Jeff Helms' 1965 Chevelle Malibu Super Sport Z16. There were only 201 of these cars built in 1965, and this one is meticulously restored with all the right stuff. The rare Chevelle rolls on BFGoodrich Silvertown bias ply tires with Gold Stripes, a staple of the Z16 package.

This early Corvette is packed with practical upgrades, such as electronic fuel injection and of course radial tires. It rolls on a set of our Coker Classic wide whitewall radials, sized at 205/75R15, a perfect fit for the original steel wheels and full wheel covers.

Here's a rare one that might catch you off guard. This is a 1967 Chevelle Malibu convertible, with the potent L79 small block engine. It's one of very few built with this combination of parts, and it looks just right with those Deluxe mag wheel hubcaps and Firestone redlines.

1968 was the first year of the C3 Corvette and this one looks awesome with the Smoky Mountains in the background. Chrome side pipes set the tone on this lightly modified Corvette, and it features a broad stance with a set of 15x8 Rally wheels, wrapped in extra wide BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires.

The end of the C1 generation saw many changes that would hint at the future body styles. 1962 was the end of the stainless steel trim around the cove area, and it was also the end of wide whitewall tires. This example rolls on a set of our American Classic radials with 1-inch whitewall, a great replacement for the original bias ply tires.

Chevy enthusiasts love the styling of the 1966 and 1967 Chevy Nova and this one is extra special. It features L79 horsepower, and an absolutely stunning restoration. It rolls on authentic BFGoodrich Silvertown bias ply tires, sized at 695-14. 

This 1961 Corvette features a great color combination and rolls on a set of our American Classic bias look radial tires, sized at 670R15. 

One of the stars of the show was this very special 1965 Chevelle 300. Although the body and interior are as simple as it gets, this car was specially ordered (COPO) with a 395/425hp big block. This is the only one of its kind, and it features an M22 four-speed and outrageous 4.88:1 gears with Positraction that would turn those BFGoodrich gold stripe tires into dust.
