Goodyear 6.95-14 Bias Ply Raised White Letter + Blue Streak Tire 1950-60s Classic

Goodyear Blue Streak tires have a storied past in the world of high performance muscle cars, pony cars and race cars. This Goodyear Blue Streak offers a very specific fitment as its 695-14 bias ply tire size adn special sidewall treatment lends itself to the 1966 and 1967 Plymouth Barracuda Formula S. This specific tire features accurate lettering and the exact tread pattern that rolled beneath the special edition Barracuda. Also included are the raised white letters and blue stripe, a special feature on the Formula S. The tire features a four ply construction with nylon cord material.

Blueline Tires for Muscle Cars

For a very short period of time during the mid 1960's, tires were produced with a 3/8-inch blue stripe on the sidewall. Goodyear Blue Streak tires were the originator, but BFGoodrich also offered a blue line tire. These tires were available on select Mopar cars during 1965 and 1966. Bias Ply Construction

Bias ply tire construction is a method that was used from the 1900's through the 1970's on passenger cars and light trucks. Bias ply tires feature ply cords that run at a 45 degree angle to the bead, and overlap in a crisscross pattern, depending on how many ply layers are used. This creates a strong tire, but bias ply tires have a tendency to follow breaks or ruts in the pavement.
