Goodyear Custom Super Cushion 1 inch Whitewall 800-14

The Goodyear Custom Super Cushion 800-14 bias ply tire is a great choice for a classic car from the 1960's, and it features an authentic 1-inch whitewall. This tire was introduced in 1962 and was a popular OE option for car manufacturers. It features a four-ply bias ply construction with polyester cord material, and has an authentic tread pattern and sidewall markings for the 1962 through 1964 era. The 800-14 bias ply tire size dates all the way back to 1957, but this one inch whitewall was a new sporty look for 1962. It rolled beneath cars like the Ford Thunderbird, Chevrolet Impala and many other popular full size cars from that time frame.

Genuine Narrow Whitewall Tire

This product features a genuine narrow whitewall sidewall style. This means that the bright white rubber is added directly to the tire sidewall during initial construction of the carcass, resulting in a truly integrated, high-quality product after vulcanization. When we reference "narrow whitewall" tires, we typically mean a whitewall that measures less than two inches, but it can also mean a whitewall that does not reach all the way into the bead. Bias Ply Construction

Bias ply tire construction is a method that was used from the 1900's through the 1970's on passenger cars and light trucks. Bias ply tires feature ply cords that run at a 45 degree angle to the bead, and overlap in a crisscross pattern, depending on how many ply layers are used. This creates a strong tire, but bias ply tires have a tendency to follow breaks or ruts in the pavement.
