Goodyear 6.70-15 Bias Ply Wide Whitewall Tire 1950-60s Classic
The Goodyear Super Cushion 670-15 bias ply tire is a great choice for a classic car from the 1940s and 1950's, thanks to its 4.25 inch whitewall (4.25 inches). This size was introduced in 1948, and this particular tire offers direct OE fitment on 1948 through 1952 cars, including Chevrolet, Ford, Hudson, Studebaker and many more. It features a four-ply bias ply construction with polyester cord material, and has an authentic tread pattern and sidewall markings. This tire is also a popular choice for custom builds because of its extra wide whitewall.
Genuine Wide Whitewall Tire
This product features a genuine wide whitewall sidewall style. This means that the bright white rubber is added directly to the tire sidewall during initial construction of the carcass, resulting in a truly integrated, high-quality product after vulcanization. Wide whitewall tires were a very popular choice from the 1930's through the end of the 1950's, and were eventually phased out of mainstream production by 1962. Originally, wide whitewall tires featured a bias ply construction, but now Coker Tire offers them in original style bias ply and modern radial construction.
Bias Ply Construction
Bias ply tire construction is a method that was used from the 1900's through the 1970's on passenger cars and light trucks. Bias ply tires feature ply cords that run at a 45 degree angle to the bead, and overlap in a crisscross pattern, depending on how many ply layers are used. This creates a strong tire, but bias ply tires have a tendency to follow breaks or ruts in the pavement. Bias ply tires are the most authentic choice for classic car restorations and traditional hot rod builds. Coker Tire offers a huge variety of bias ply tires for many applications.
