About Us | Classic Tires
Coker Tire was founded in 1958 as a modern tire and service center. The company moved from its small operation in Athens, Tennessee to a much larger facility in 1960, as it became the first major BFGoodrich tire dealership in Chattanooga, Tennessee. The company served local customers through the main portion of the shop, while a new division of the company gained momentum during the 1970's. This new portion of the business was the Antique Tire division, with an intense focus on providing authentic tires for antique cars.
Since this was a relatively new concept, Coker Tire laid the foundation for an entire segment of the tire industry, by sourcing discontinued molds and putting them back into production with modern materials and machinery.
Although a lot has changed with Coker Tire Company since 1958, our passion for the automobile continues to be a driving force behind everything we do. We strive to manufacture period correct bias ply tires, but we also offer modern radials. Coker Tire was the first to manufacture a wide whitewall radial tire, and the first to manufacture a bias look radial tire, offering the best of both worlds.
We’ve secured licensing agreements with Firestone, BFGoodrich and U.S. Royal to manufacture authentically branded tires that are true to the originals, aside from the fact that they are built with modern materials and machinery to ensure a safe and reliable tire for your collector vehicle.
In addition to these brands, we produce many other tires under our own branding, such as Coker Classic, American Classic, Excelsior and more! We’re also recommended distributors for brands such as Michelin, Vredestein and the famous BFGoodrich Radial T/A. No matter the brand, we take pride in our products and stand behind them with our Life of the Tread Warranty. You can also opt for our Extended Tire Protection or Extended Wheel Protection to take that warranty to the next level.
We’re dedicated to supplying the automotive world with the absolute best tires, wheels and accessories, designed specifically for collector vehicles. We’re also dedicated to the continuation of the automotive hobby, by entering new markets and keeping constant communication with the folks who helped us become the world’s largest manufacturer of tires and wheels for collector vehicles. Our relationships with the AACA, HCCA, AMCA and SEMA are valuable, but it’s the relationships with each and every one of our customers that keep this company rolling. Shop around our website to see our current offerings and reach out when you're ready--our knowledgeable staff will be here to serve you.
We’re also proud to offer authentic wheels for a wide variety of classic cars, hot rods, muscle cars and more, from restored originals to custom combinations and everything in between. This includes our Specialty Wheel brand, as well as Roadster Wire Wheels, Cragar S/S wheels and more! As a bonus, we offer FREE mounting, balancing and nitrogen inflation when you order tires and wheels together. That means you can have the tires and wheels shipped directly to your door and simply bolt them on and hit the road! It saves you well over $100 and lots of headache from the local tire shop.
