American Racing wheels began as a small operation, led by drag racing innovator, Romeo Palamides in 1956. He originally manufactured magnesium racing wheels for dragsters, but these specially crafted, lightweight racing wheels soon found their way to the street, during the hot rod glory days. This eventually led American Racing to produce wheels in aluminum instead of magnesium and it also led to subsequent designs beyond the original four-slot rears, 12-spoke spindle-mount fronts. By the mid 1960's, the Torq Thrust was in full swing, rolling beneath many muscle cars and hot rods of the day, and the evolution of the Torq Thrust has kept American Racing relevant through many trends. American Racing Torq Thrust wheels carry on the legacy of a timeless design, lightweight construction and excellent value.
