My Tire Shop Says I Received A Defective Tire, What Can I Do?

Loading...

If you are mounting and balancing your tires at a local shop, there is a chance they could find a defect in the tire. If you have a tire with more than .036-inch radial or lateral runout, or a tire that requires "too much" weight, we will gladly work with you to resolve the situation. "Too much weight" is a subjective phrase, as every tire is different. A 165R15 tire will often require less weight to balance than a 285/70R15, due to the static weight of the tire. Radial Runout is a measurement of the tire's roundness and this can sometimes be affected by the wheel's trueness or roundness. Many balancing machines have a quick matching feature, which allows the technician to debead the tire and rotate it on the wheel to a spot that smooths out the runout. Sometimes quick matching resolves the problem, but if it doesn't, please reach out to your sales rep and we will help you find a solution.
