480-10 Silvertown Blackwall Tire

These classic BFGoodrich 480-10 bias ply tires feature authentic tread design and nice sidewall details, featuring a clean black sidewall. These tires are hand-built in the USA using the original molds and traditional bias ply construction. The rubber compounds and cord materials are modern and the quality is excellent for use on your classic car. This is a tube type tire that is designed for use on vintage European and Japanese compact cars. Direct fitments include vintage Mazda 360 and Goggomobil coupe and roadster. The BFGoodrich Silvertown product line features fantastic period-correct styling and are available in many sizes for 10- to 16-inch fitments.

Blackwall Tire

Bias Ply Construction

Bias ply tire construction is a method that was used from the 1900's through the 1970's on passenger cars and light trucks. Bias ply tires feature ply cords that run at a 45 degree angle to the bead, and overlap in a crisscross pattern, depending on how many ply layers are used. This creates a strong tire, but bias ply tires have a tendency to follow breaks or ruts in the pavement.
