760R15 Bias Look Radial Blackwall Tire

Coker Tire's new American Classic Bias Look Radial tires are made in the USA and thoroughly tested to ensure quality. When it comes to your collector vehicle, you can trust that American Classic Radial tires are ready for the open road. They're also ready for the show field with beautiful styling. The "pie crust" shoulder and vintage-style tread pattern give this tire an original look, while steel belted radial internal construction make it the perfect choice for a car that will see plenty of miles. The blackwall styling and bias look make this an excellent tire for trucks, cars and hot rods. This is a tubeless tire, but keep in mind that tubes are required on some OEM and reproduction wire wheels.

Blackwall Tire

Since the introduction of carbon black rocked the tire industry, the original recipe for most tires has been a solid black sidewall. For classics and collector cars alike, it's hard to beat the no-nonsense appeal of a classic blackwall style tire. British sports car, classic truck and even hot rod enthusiasts love the way a nice period correct blackwall tire looks on their vehicles.

S Speed Rating

S Speed Rated: Up to 112 mph (180 km/h). Often required OE for higher performance trim level classic automobiles.

Bias Look Radial Tire

The term "bias look radial" is something that Coker Tire created when we introduced the American Classic bias look radial product line. This means the tire has the appearance and the sizing profiles of a vintage bias ply tire, with modern radial construction. This provides an original look with a smooth ride and longer tread life, compared to bias ply tires. We offer bias look radial tires for vehicles ranging from the 1920's through the 1970's.

American Classic Radial Tires

American Classic tires are made in the USA and designed for use on classic cars, hot rods and customs. The most popular product line under the American Classic brand is the bias look radial, a tire that looks like a vintage bias ply tire but rides and handles like a modern radial tire.

American Classic Tires for Collector Cars

American Classic radial tires includes P-metric radials (such as 235/75R15) and the famous "bias look radial" (such as 670R15). American Classic radial tires are offered in wide whitewall, narrow whitewall, and black sidewall in select sizes, developed specifically for 1940's, 1950's and 1960's classic cars. These tires feature a classic tread design and a beautiful sidewall that's built into the tire from day one of production.

Please Note

  • Bias Look Radial tires feature genuine radial tire construction with bias ply tire size, profile and styling. These tires are built in brand new molds using modern materials and tooling. Typically the sizing is the same as their Bias Ply equivalents with the addition of 'R' in the size value. Tire mounted on wheel for demonstration purposes only. Wheel and other accessories are not included. Please note that dimensions listed (tread width, section width and overall diameter) are non-scientific and based on an inflated tire, mounted to a wheel. Dimensions may vary due to rim width and inflation pressure. Please note Chemical Guys Tire and Rubber Cleaner and Adams Polish Tire shine has been linked to Whitewall browning and should not be used. We recommend using our line of tire care products.

Frequently Asked Questions

Fitment & Compatibility â–¼

Will the American Classic Radial 760R15 Bias Look Radial Blackwall Tire fit my classic car, truck, or hot rod? â–¼

The American Classic Radial 760R15 Bias Look Radial Blackwall Tire is designed for many collector vehicles that originally used bias ply tires with a similar 760-15 sizing format. Its 29.8-inch overall diameter and 7.6-inch section width help maintain a period-correct appearance while providing the benefits of modern radial construction. This makes it suitable for many classic cars, trucks, and hot rods that require a tall, narrow tire profile.

Before purchasing, verify wheel diameter, wheel width, and available clearance around suspension and fender components. The tire is designed for 15-inch wheels and works best on wheels measuring 5.5 to 6.0 inches wide. Vehicle modifications such as lowering kits, disc brake conversions, or aftermarket suspension parts should also be checked to ensure proper fitment.

What wheel widths are compatible with the American Classic Radial 760R15 Bias Look Radial Blackwall Tire? â–¼

The American Classic Radial 760R15 Bias Look Radial Blackwall Tire is engineered for wheels measuring between 5.5 and 6.0 inches in width. Using a wheel within this range helps the tire maintain its intended section width, sidewall shape, and contact patch characteristics. Proper wheel width also supports predictable handling and even tread wear over time.

Installing the tire on a wheel that falls outside the recommended range can alter the tire profile. A wheel that is too narrow may increase sidewall flex, while a wheel that is too wide can stretch the tire and affect ride quality. Staying within the specified wheel width range helps preserve the tire's appearance, performance, and durability while maintaining the bias ply style profile that many restoration enthusiasts seek.

Tire Size Equivalents & Conversions â–¼

Which original bias ply tire sizes does the American Classic Radial 760R15 Bias Look Radial Blackwall Tire most closely resemble? â–¼

The American Classic Radial 760R15 Bias Look Radial Blackwall Tire was designed to closely mirror traditional 760-15 bias ply tire dimensions and proportions. The bias look radial construction preserves the tall sidewall and narrow profile that many classic vehicles originally used, making it a popular choice for restorations seeking factory-style appearance.

Although it is intended as a direct visual replacement for a 760-15 bias ply tire, owners should still compare actual dimensions with their current setup. Manufacturing tolerances, wheel widths, ride height changes, and suspension modifications can influence fitment. Verifying overall diameter and section width against the vehicle's existing tire package helps ensure proper clearance and maintain the desired stance.

Performance & Use Case â–¼

Is the American Classic Radial 760R15 Bias Look Radial Blackwall Tire a good choice for regular highway driving? â–¼

The American Classic Radial 760R15 Bias Look Radial Blackwall Tire was designed for enthusiasts who want vintage styling without sacrificing the comfort and stability associated with radial construction. Unlike traditional bias ply tires, the steel-belted radial design helps the tire maintain more consistent road contact, improving straight-line tracking and reducing driver fatigue during longer highway trips.

The tire also carries an S speed rating, making it suitable for speeds up to 112 mph under proper operating conditions. While most collector vehicles are rarely driven near that limit, the rating provides confidence for modern highway use. Owners who frequently attend shows, cruises, and road trips often choose this tire because it combines authentic appearance with more relaxed highway manners.

How does the American Classic Radial 760R15 Bias Look Radial Blackwall Tire ride compared with a traditional 760-15 bias ply tire? â–¼

The American Classic Radial 760R15 Bias Look Radial Blackwall Tire generally delivers a smoother and more composed ride than a traditional bias ply tire. Radial construction allows the tread to remain flatter on the road surface while the sidewalls flex more independently, helping absorb imperfections and uneven pavement more effectively.

Drivers often notice reduced wandering, improved directional stability, and greater comfort during extended drives. While the tire preserves the appearance of a vintage bias ply design, the driving experience feels more modern. This balance makes it appealing to owners who want period-correct styling but prefer a vehicle that feels more comfortable and predictable during regular road use.

Construction, Durability & Load Capacity â–¼

What makes the American Classic Radial 760R15 Bias Look Radial Blackwall Tire different from a traditional bias ply tire? â–¼

The American Classic Radial 760R15 Bias Look Radial Blackwall Tire combines the appearance of a vintage bias ply tire with the internal structure of a modern steel-belted radial tire. Features such as the pie-crust shoulder, tall sidewall profile, and period-correct tread pattern help preserve the authentic look many collectors and restorers prefer.

Internally, the radial construction allows the tire to flex differently than a bias ply design. This generally results in improved ride quality, better road contact, enhanced directional stability, and longer tread life. For owners who want their vehicle to maintain a factory-era appearance while benefiting from modern tire technology, this construction offers a practical compromise between originality and everyday usability.

How durable is the American Classic Radial 760R15 Bias Look Radial Blackwall Tire for regular driving? â–¼

The American Classic Radial 760R15 Bias Look Radial Blackwall Tire is designed for collector vehicles that are actively driven rather than stored exclusively for display. Its steel-belted radial construction helps improve tread longevity and overall durability when compared with many traditional bias ply alternatives. Modern manufacturing materials also contribute to greater consistency and reliability.

Durability depends heavily on factors such as alignment, inflation pressure, storage conditions, and driving habits. Vehicles with worn suspension components or incorrect alignment settings may experience accelerated wear regardless of tire quality. Regular inspections and proper maintenance help owners maximize service life while preserving the appearance and performance characteristics that make this tire appealing to vintage vehicle enthusiasts.

Installation & Maintenance â–¼

How can I maximize tread life on the American Classic Radial 760R15 Bias Look Radial Blackwall Tire? â–¼

Maximizing tread life begins with maintaining correct inflation pressure, proper wheel alignment, and healthy suspension components. Because the American Classic Radial 760R15 Bias Look Radial Blackwall Tire uses modern radial construction, it can deliver excellent wear characteristics when installed and maintained correctly.

Driving habits also influence longevity. Aggressive acceleration, hard braking, and frequent high-speed operation can accelerate tread wear. Monitoring alignment regularly is particularly important because classic vehicles may experience suspension movement over time. Keeping the tire properly inflated and addressing mechanical issues promptly helps distribute load evenly across the tread, supporting more consistent wear and extending overall service life.
