800R14 Bias Look Radial Blackwall Tire

Coker Tire's new American Classic Bias Look Radial tires are made in the USA and thoroughly tested to ensure quality. When it comes to your collector vehicle, you can trust that American Classic Radial tires are ready for the open road. They're also ready for the show field with beautiful styling. The "pie crust" shoulder and vintage-style tread pattern give this tire an original look, while steel belted radial internal construction make it the perfect choice for a car that will see plenty of miles. The blackwall styling and bias look make this an excellent tire for trucks, cars and hot rods. This is a tubeless tire, but keep in mind that tubes are required on some OEM and reproduction wire wheels.

Blackwall Tire

Since the introduction of carbon black rocked the tire industry, the original recipe for most tires has been a solid black sidewall. For classics and collector cars alike, it's hard to beat the no-nonsense appeal of a classic blackwall style tire. British sports car, classic truck and even hot rod enthusiasts love the way a nice period correct blackwall tire looks on their vehicles.

S Speed Rating

S Speed Rated: Up to 112 mph (180 km/h). Often required OE for higher performance trim level classic automobiles.

Bias Look Radial Tire

The term "bias look radial" is something that Coker Tire created when we introduced the American Classic bias look radial product line. This means the tire has the appearance and the sizing profiles of a vintage bias ply tire, with modern radial construction. This provides an original look with a smooth ride and longer tread life, compared to bias ply tires. We offer bias look radial tires for vehicles ranging from the 1920's through the 1970's.

American Classic Radial Tires

American Classic tires are made in the USA and designed for use on classic cars, hot rods and customs. The most popular product line under the American Classic brand is the bias look radial, a tire that looks like a vintage bias ply tire but rides and handles like a modern radial tire.

American Classic Tires for Collector Cars

American Classic radial tires includes P-metric radials (such as 235/75R15) and the famous "bias look radial" (such as 670R15). American Classic radial tires are offered in wide whitewall, narrow whitewall, and black sidewall in select sizes, developed specifically for 1940's, 1950's and 1960's classic cars. These tires feature a classic tread design and a beautiful sidewall that's built into the tire from day one of production.

Please Note

  • Bias Look Radial tires feature genuine radial tire construction with bias ply tire size, profile and styling. These tires are built in brand new molds using modern materials and tooling. Typically the sizing is the same as their Bias Ply equivalents with the addition of 'R' in the size value. Tire mounted on wheel for demonstration purposes only. Wheel and other accessories are not included. Please note that dimensions listed (tread width, section width and overall diameter) are non-scientific and based on an inflated tire, mounted to a wheel. Dimensions may vary due to rim width and inflation pressure. Please note Chemical Guys Tire and Rubber Cleaner and Adams Polish Tire shine has been linked to Whitewall browning and should not be used. We recommend using our line of tire care products.

Frequently Asked Questions

Fitment & Compatibility ▼

Will the American Classic Radial 800R14 work for my classic car, truck, or hot rod? ▼

The American Classic Radial 800R14 is positioned for collector vehicles, including classic cars, trucks, and hot rods. The PDP describes it as a bias look radial blackwall tire with vintage styling and steel belted radial internal construction, which makes it suitable for buyers wanting original appearance with more road-friendly radial behavior.

Fitment still depends on wheel diameter, rim width, fender clearance, suspension clearance, brake clearance, load requirement, and stance goal. Before purchasing the American Classic Radial 800R14, compare the listed overall diameter, section width, tread width, and rim width guidance against the vehicle’s current tire and wheel setup.

Will the American Classic Radial 800R14 fit my 14-inch wheels? ▼

The American Classic Radial 800R14 is intended for 14-inch wheels, but wheel diameter alone does not confirm proper fitment. Wheel width, bead condition, offset, backspacing, brake clearance, and suspension space all need to be checked before installing the tire on a classic vehicle.

The PDP notes that dimensions are based on an inflated tire mounted to a wheel and may vary due to rim width and inflation pressure. Before mounting the American Classic Radial 800R14, confirm that your wheel width is compatible with the tire’s listed specification range.

Tire Size Equivalents & Conversions ▼

Is the American Classic Radial 800R14 the same size as an 800-14 bias ply tire? ▼

The American Classic Radial 800R14 is designed to relate closely to traditional 800-14 bias ply sizing. The PDP notes that bias look radial tires typically use the same sizing as their bias ply equivalents, with “R” added to identify radial construction.

That does not mean every 800-14 replacement decision is automatic. The American Classic Radial 800R14 should still be compared by mounted dimensions, wheel width compatibility, and vehicle clearance. The radial construction can also change ride feel, tracking behavior, and tread life compared with an original bias ply tire.

How does the American Classic Radial 800R14 sidewall profile affect ride and appearance? ▼

The American Classic Radial 800R14 uses a bias look profile with radial construction, so it is intended to look like a vintage bias ply tire while riding more like a modern radial. The PDP specifically references pie crust shoulder styling and a vintage-style tread pattern.

That sidewall profile supports original visual character on classic vehicles, trucks, and hot rods. Behavior still depends on pressure, rim width, vehicle weight, and suspension condition. The American Classic Radial 800R14 should provide a traditional silhouette without the same road feel as a true bias ply tire.

Performance & Use Case ▼

How will the American Classic Radial 800R14 drive on the highway? ▼

The American Classic Radial 800R14 is built for collector vehicles that will see real road miles. The PDP states that American Classic Radial tires are ready for the open road and use steel belted radial internal construction, which supports smoother ride and road manners compared with traditional bias ply construction.

Highway confidence still depends on setup. Wheel condition, alignment, brakes, suspension, tire pressure, vehicle load, and speed rating all matter. The American Classic Radial 800R14 should be used within its confirmed specifications and within the realistic mechanical limits of the classic vehicle.

Is the American Classic Radial 800R14 good for cars that are both shown and driven? ▼

The American Classic Radial 800R14 is well suited to vehicles that are both shown and driven because the PDP emphasizes open-road readiness and show-field styling. The pie crust shoulder, vintage-style tread pattern, blackwall sidewall, and bias look profile help preserve a classic appearance.

The benefit is balance. The American Classic Radial 800R14 is not only an appearance tire, because its steel belted radial construction is intended for vehicles that see plenty of miles. Buyers should still confirm fitment, load needs, and clearance before using it on a regular driver.

Construction, Durability & Load Capacity ▼

How durable is the American Classic Radial 800R14 for regular road use? ▼

The American Classic Radial 800R14 is positioned for road-driven collector vehicles. The PDP states that American Classic Radial tires are thoroughly tested, made in the USA, ready for the open road, and built with steel belted radial internal construction for cars that will see plenty of miles.

Durability still depends on installation and care. Inflation pressure, alignment, load, wheel condition, suspension wear, storage, and driving style all affect tire life. The American Classic Radial 800R14 should be inspected regularly for uneven wear, pressure loss, sidewall aging, rubbing, and road damage.

How does the American Classic Radial 800R14 differ from a true bias ply tire? ▼

The American Classic Radial 800R14 differs from a true bias ply tire because it uses genuine radial construction while preserving bias ply size, profile, and styling. The PDP explains that this design provides an original look with smoother ride and longer tread life compared to bias ply tires.

That difference affects buyer expectations. The American Classic Radial 800R14 should look appropriate on a classic vehicle, but road feel, tracking, and tread behavior will not be exactly the same as a true bias ply tire. It is designed as a balanced restoration-driving choice.

Installation & Maintenance ▼

What long-term ownership issues should I watch with the American Classic Radial 800R14? ▼

With the American Classic Radial 800R14, watch for pressure loss, uneven tread wear, vibration, sidewall cracking, rubbing marks, flat spotting, and changes in straight-line tracking. These signs can point to alignment drift, wheel damage, suspension wear, tube issues, or incorrect inflation.

Storage also matters for collector vehicles that sit between drives. Keep the American Classic Radial 800R14 away from prolonged sunlight, ozone sources, petroleum products, and harsh chemicals. Regular inspection helps preserve the blackwall appearance, bias look profile, and open-road confidence expected from this tire.
