Avon Super Safety 6.40 H15 83H Tire

Finding a speed rated bias ply tire is a challenge, but we have the solution with this Avon Super Safety tubeless crossply tire. It features 640H15 sizing, perfect for classic sports cars from the 1950's and 1960's. The tire features an H speed rating, providing safe service up to 130 miles per hour. The classic tread pattern and smooth black sidewall are the right choice for many vintage sports cars. This is a tubeless tire, but your application, especially those with wire wheels may require a tube and/or rim strip.

Blackwall Tire

Since the introduction of carbon black rocked the tire industry, the original recipe for most tires has been a solid black sidewall. Bias Ply Construction

Bias ply tire construction is a method that was used from the 1900's through the 1970's on passenger cars and light trucks. Bias ply tires feature ply cords that run at a 45 degree angle to the bead, and overlap in a crisscross pattern, depending on how many ply layers are used. This creates a strong tire, but bias ply tires have a tendency to follow breaks or ruts in the pavement.
