265/70R16 121S All Terrain TA KO2 RWL Tire
As the creator of the world's first all-terrain, BFGoodrich knows a thing or two about designing year-round all-terrain tires. From pavement, to sand, to mud, to severe snow, our year-round all-terrain tires perform in any condition, any time of the year.
Genuine Raised White Letter Tire
This is a raised white letter tire, sometimes called RWL for short. Raised white letter tires became common in the late sixties on muscle cars like the Pontiac GTO and high performance pony cars, like the Ford Mustang. Raised white letter tires feature white rubber that is built into the tire's sidewall when the carcass is being assembled. The letters are formed when the tire is vulcanized in a curing mold, and then buffed clean to reveal bright white letters. Look for this classic style from our featured brands like Pro-Trac, Firestone Wide Oval and BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires.
S Speed Rating
S Speed Rated: Up to 112 mph (180 km/h). Often required OE for higher performance trim level classic automobiles.
All Terrain T/A KO2 Tires
Serrated Shoulder Design provides increased mud, snow and rock traction, especially in aired-down driving situations. Interlocking Tread Elements maximize traction and handling on- and off-road by stabilizing the tread center and providing biting edges for improved traction. Three-peak mountain snowflake symbol: Exceeds U.S. Tire Manufacturers Association (USTMA) Severe Snow Traction performance requirements.

Frequently Asked Questions
Fitment & Compatibility â–¼
The BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO2 LT265/70R16/E is engineered for rims between 7.0 and 8.5 inches wide, ensuring proper bead seating and optimal sidewall shape. This range supports correct tire performance and stability.
Using rims outside this range can distort the tire profile. Narrower rims may cause excessive sidewall bulge, while wider rims can flatten the tread and reduce off-road performance. Staying within the recommended range ensures proper contact patch behavior and even wear.
This tire is designed to fit standard brake and suspension configurations when used with compatible wheels. Its dimensions are within typical limits for many trucks and SUVs.
However, clearance should be verified on vehicles with aftermarket brake upgrades or modified suspension systems. Larger components may require additional spacing or different wheel offsets to avoid interference.
The BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO2 LT265/70R16/E is designed for light trucks and SUVs, offering a load index of 121 and a maximum load capacity of 3,195 pounds at 80 psi. This supports a wide range of vehicle types.
Its construction and tread design make it suitable for both on-road and off-road use, making it a versatile choice for drivers who need durability and performance across different conditions.
Tire Size Equivalents & Conversions â–¼
The BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO2 LT265/70R16/E is designed for light trucks and SUVs, offering a load index of 121 and a maximum load capacity of 3,195 pounds at 80 psi. This supports a wide range of vehicle types.
Its construction and tread design make it suitable for both on-road and off-road use, making it a versatile choice for drivers who need durability and performance across different conditions.
The BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO2 LT265/70R16/E can replace smaller sizes to increase ground clearance and improve off-road capability. However, this may require clearance checks and potential modifications.
Replacing larger tires with this size may lower ride height and affect appearance. It is important to compare dimensions carefully before switching to ensure compatibility with your vehicle.
The BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO2 LT265/70R16/E is a strong upgrade from highway terrain tires for drivers seeking improved off-road capability and durability. Its aggressive tread design provides better traction on loose surfaces.
However, this upgrade may introduce increased road noise and slightly reduced fuel efficiency. It is best suited for drivers who need versatility across both on-road and off-road conditions.
Performance & Use Case â–¼
The BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO2 LT265/70R16/E performs well on highways for an all-terrain tire, offering stable tracking and predictable handling. The interlocking tread elements help stabilize the center tread, reducing squirm and improving straight-line control at speed.
However, compared to highway terrain tires, it produces slightly more road noise due to its aggressive tread pattern. The Load Range E construction also results in a firmer ride, especially on lighter vehicles, but it delivers strong durability and consistent performance during long highway drives.
The BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO2 LT265/70R16/E is specifically designed for off-road performance, featuring serrated shoulder lugs and aggressive tread blocks. These elements improve traction on mud, sand, and rocky terrain.
The tire also performs well when aired down, allowing the contact patch to expand for better grip. This makes it a strong choice for off-road enthusiasts who need reliable performance across a variety of challenging surfaces.
The BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO2 LT265/70R16/E carries the three-peak mountain snowflake symbol, indicating it meets severe snow traction requirements. This makes it suitable for winter driving conditions.
The tread design provides biting edges that enhance grip on snow and ice. While it is not a dedicated winter tire, it offers strong all-season performance, making it a practical choice for drivers in varying climates.
The Load Range E construction creates a stiffer sidewall, which can reduce ride comfort compared to softer passenger tires. This is especially noticeable on lighter vehicles.
However, the 70 aspect ratio still provides some cushioning over uneven surfaces. The balance between durability and comfort makes it suitable for mixed-use driving, though not as smooth as highway-focused tires.
The aggressive tread pattern generates more road noise than highway terrain tires, particularly at higher speeds. This is a common trade-off for improved off-road traction.
Despite this, the interlocking tread elements help reduce excessive noise compared to more aggressive mud-terrain tires. This keeps noise levels manageable for daily driving.
Construction, Durability & Load Capacity â–¼
The 15/32-inch tread depth provides substantial tread life and durability, especially for off-road use. Deeper tread allows for extended wear and improved traction in loose conditions.
This depth also helps resist damage from rocks and debris. Combined with strong sidewalls, it contributes to long-term durability under demanding conditions.
The load index of 121 corresponds to a maximum load capacity of 3,195 pounds per tire at 80 psi. This makes it suitable for heavy-duty applications such as trucks and SUVs.
Matching the load index to vehicle requirements is essential for safe operation. It ensures the tire can support the vehicle’s weight without excessive stress.
Installation & Maintenance â–¼
The BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO2 LT265/70R16/E supports a maximum load of 3,195 pounds at 80 psi, which represents its upper pressure limit under full load conditions. Actual operating pressure should follow the vehicle manufacturer’s recommendations rather than always using maximum pressure.
Inflation directly affects contact patch shape, ride comfort, and heat buildup. Underinflation increases sidewall flex and temperature, while overinflation reduces traction and causes uneven center wear. Regular pressure checks are critical, especially when towing, hauling, or transitioning between highway and off-road use.
Rotating the BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO2 LT265/70R16/E every 5,000 to 7,000 miles helps ensure even tread wear. This is especially important for all-terrain tires, which can wear unevenly depending on driving conditions.
Regular rotation extends tire life and maintains consistent traction. Vehicles used off-road or for towing may require more frequent rotation due to increased stress on specific tires.
Maintaining the BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO2 LT265/70R16/E involves regular pressure checks, rotation, and inspection for damage or uneven wear. Keeping the tire clean also helps prevent buildup of debris.
Avoid overloading and ensure proper alignment to extend tire life. Consistent maintenance helps preserve performance and durability across both on-road and off-road use.
