305/70R16 124/121R All Terrain TA KO2 RWL Tire

As the creator of the world's first all-terrain, BFGoodrich knows a thing or two about designing year-round all-terrain tires. From pavement, to sand, to mud, to severe snow, our year-round all-terrain tires perform in any condition, any time of the year.

Genuine Raised White Letter Tire

This is a raised white letter tire, sometimes called RWL for short. Raised white letter tires became common in the late sixties on muscle cars like the Pontiac GTO and high performance pony cars, like the Ford Mustang. Raised white letter tires feature white rubber that is built into the tire's sidewall when the carcass is being assembled. The letters are formed when the tire is vulcanized in a curing mold, and then buffed clean to reveal bright white letters. Look for this classic style from our featured brands like Pro-Trac, Firestone Wide Oval and BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires.

All Terrain T/A KO2 Tires

Serrated Shoulder Design provides increased mud, snow and rock traction, especially in aired-down driving situations. Interlocking Tread Elements maximize traction and handling on- and off-road by stabilizing the tread center and providing biting edges for improved traction. Three-peak mountain snowflake symbol: Exceeds U.S. Tire Manufacturers Association (USTMA) Severe Snow Traction performance requirements.

Frequently Asked Questions

Fitment & Compatibility â–¼

Will the BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO2 LT305/70R16/E fit my truck or SUV with 16-inch wheels? â–¼

The BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO2 LT305/70R16/E is designed for 16-inch wheels and features a large 32.8-inch overall diameter with a 12-inch section width. This makes it suitable for trucks and SUVs that can accommodate oversized tires, including lifted or off-road builds.

Fitment depends heavily on clearance and wheel width. This tire requires an 8.0 to 9.5-inch wide rim, and vehicles with stock suspension may experience rubbing at full steering lock or compression. Fender trimming or lift kits are often required for proper clearance.

Is the BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO2 LT305/70R16/E compatible with factory wheel widths? â–¼

This tire is compatible with wheel widths ranging from 8.0 to 9.5 inches, which is wider than many factory wheels on older trucks and SUVs. A 9-inch wheel is typically ideal for maintaining proper sidewall support and tread profile.

Using a narrower wheel increases sidewall bulge and can reduce handling precision, while wider wheels flatten the tread and expose sidewalls to damage. Staying within the recommended range ensures proper contact patch behavior and load distribution.

Will the BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO2 LT305/70R16/E clear suspension components and fenders? â–¼

The 12-inch section width increases the likelihood of interference with control arms, fender liners, and outer fender lips. Clearance depends on wheel offset and suspension setup.

Vehicles with stock offset wheels may experience inner rubbing, while aggressive offsets can push the tire outward toward fender edges. Proper fitment planning is critical, especially for vehicles used off-road where suspension articulation increases clearance demands.

Tire Size Equivalents & Conversions â–¼

What size does the BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO2 LT305/70R16/E compare to? â–¼

The LT305/70R16 size is roughly equivalent to a 33x12.50R16 tire in flotation sizing. It provides a similar overall diameter and width, making it a common upgrade for off-road builds.

This conversion helps users transitioning from flotation sizes understand fitment. However, exact dimensions can vary slightly based on manufacturer and wheel width.

Will the BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO2 LT305/70R16/E affect speedometer accuracy? â–¼

With 634 revolutions per mile, this tire is larger than many factory sizes, which can cause the speedometer to read slower than actual speed. This is a common effect when increasing tire diameter.

Speedometer recalibration may be required to maintain accuracy. This is especially important for highway driving and vehicles with electronic speed sensors.

Can the BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO2 LT305/70R16/E replace a 31-inch tire? â–¼

Yes, but it represents a significant increase in size compared to a typical 31-inch tire. This change increases ride height and alters gearing slightly.

The larger diameter reduces engine RPM at highway speeds but can affect acceleration. Clearance and speedometer accuracy should be evaluated before making the switch.

Performance & Use Case â–¼

How does the BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO2 LT305/70R16/E perform on the highway? â–¼

The BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO2 LT305/70R16/E delivers stable highway performance despite its aggressive off-road design. The radial construction and interlocking tread elements help maintain consistent contact with the road, reducing wandering compared to traditional off-road tires.

The R speed rating supports safe highway speeds up to 106 mph, making it suitable for daily driving. However, the large 32.8-inch diameter and 12-inch width can introduce slight road noise and require proper inflation to prevent heat buildup during extended highway use.

Does the BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO2 LT305/70R16/E provide good traction off-road? â–¼

The BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO2 LT305/70R16/E is designed for strong off-road traction across mud, sand, snow, and rocky terrain. The serrated shoulder design and aggressive tread pattern provide additional grip in loose and uneven conditions.

When aired down, the large footprint increases surface contact, improving traction on challenging terrain. The tire also carries the three-peak mountain snowflake rating, indicating performance in severe snow conditions, making it versatile for year-round off-road use.

Is the BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO2 LT305/70R16/E suitable for wet conditions? â–¼

The tire provides reliable wet traction for an all-terrain design. The tread pattern channels water away from the contact patch, helping maintain grip on wet roads.

However, braking distances may increase compared to dedicated highway tires. Drivers should adjust speed and maintain proper tire pressure to ensure safe performance in wet conditions.

Does the BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO2 LT305/70R16/E improve traction in snow? â–¼

The tire is rated with the three-peak mountain snowflake symbol, indicating strong performance in severe snow conditions. The tread design and siping improve grip on snow-covered surfaces.

The large footprint and ability to air down further enhance traction in deep snow. However, ice performance still requires cautious driving, as it is not a dedicated winter tire.

Construction, Durability & Load Capacity â–¼

What does the 124 load index mean for the BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO2 LT305/70R16/E? â–¼

The 124 load index corresponds to a maximum load capacity of 3,525 pounds per tire at 65 psi. This makes it suitable for heavy-duty trucks, SUVs, and vehicles carrying significant loads.

Maintaining proper inflation is critical to safely support this load. Overloading or underinflation can increase heat buildup and reduce tire life, especially during towing or hauling.

How durable is the BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO2 LT305/70R16/E? â–¼

The tire is built for durability in both on-road and off-road conditions. Its construction supports resistance to wear and damage from rough terrain.

Durability depends on proper maintenance and usage. Regular rotation and correct inflation help extend lifespan, while aggressive driving can accelerate wear.

Installation & Maintenance â–¼

What tire pressure should I use for the BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO2 LT305/70R16/E? â–¼

Recommended pressure depends on vehicle weight and usage. The maximum rated pressure is 65 psi, but actual operating pressure should be adjusted accordingly.

Proper inflation ensures optimal contact patch and performance. Overinflation reduces traction, while underinflation increases heat buildup and wear.

How often should the BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO2 LT305/70R16/E be rotated? â–¼

Rotation every 5,000 to 7,000 miles helps maintain even tread wear. This is important for maximizing tire life.

Regular rotation ensures consistent performance across all four tires. Skipping rotation can lead to uneven wear and reduced lifespan.

How can I extend the life of the BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO2 LT305/70R16/E? â–¼

Extending tire life requires proper maintenance, including rotation, alignment, and correct inflation. These practices ensure even wear.

Avoiding aggressive driving and excessive loads also helps preserve tread life. Monitoring tire condition regularly helps identify issues early.
