Coker-Tire-Hershey-2013 The passing of a year of the calendar for kids seems to have very important points during the year like the end of school, Christmas, and birthdays. My calendar year seems to have important dates that focus around car events. As a died-in-the-wool car guy, I know it is Fall for sure when the AACA National Fall Meet, better simply known as Hershey rolls around. If you have never been to Hershey, Pennsylvania for this huge collector car extravaganza, you MUST put this event on your list. I remember as a young boy getting to skip school for the long pilgrimage up through Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland and Pennsylvania to attend this event. Although I aint that old, I remember that a lot of that ride was on two lane Highway 11 back then before Interstate 81 was completed. It seemed to take days to get there, but probably two at most. I remember getting to stand right next to the big vats of chocolate in the Hershey Chocolate factory during the real tours. Now the Hershey World tour is all simulated and a carnival type ride. At the swap meet itself in and around the stadium, I remember seeing Porta-johns float away because all the rain, and the MUD! Boy, the MUD! Now, HERCO has paved parking lots where the grass (and eventually mud!) used to be. It is Monday of Hershey week, and a bunch of our guys are already up in Hershey getting set up for the swap meet. I thought I would share with you a picture of our Coker Tire tractor trailers lining up to go into the Chocolate Field at Hershey. If you are at Hershey, come by and see us and save the freight and buy a set of tires and wheels! Our tractor trailers are right in the middle of the Chocolate field underneath the two big inflatable Coker Tires! From the road, Corky
