NSRA Street Rod Nationals 2024 Coverage

August 07, 2024

For more than 50 years, the National Street Rod Association has served the hot rod and custom community with the ultimate place to gather every summer. The event has changed venues over the years, but has found a long-term home at the Kentucky Expo Center in Louisville, Kentucky. Always held on the first weekend of August, the NSRA Street Rod Nationals brings in nearly 10,000 hot rods, muscle cars, classic trucks and more from all over the country. The sheer number of vehicles on display is mind-boggling, but the Street Rod Nationals also has a swap meet, new parts vendors and plenty of food options to serve the tens of thousands spectators that pass through the gates each year. As usual, we had a space in the vendor hall, and we also spent some time walking the aisles of the show to check out some great cars and trucks with our tires and wheels. Take a look at some of our favorite Coker-equipped machines from the 2024 NSRA Street Rod Nationals.
We love the chopped top and race-inspired details on this Ford Model A coupe and it's finished off nicely with a set of our Firestone Dirt Track tires and Gennie wheels.
Satin black, red steel wheels and wide whitewall tires will always be in style, and this 1932 Ford three-window coupe proves it. Extra style points come from the traditionally dressed small block Chevy engine and checkered firewall.
This slick 1932 Ford roadster pickup was a previous NSRA Giveaway car, and now belongs to Dick Stevens from Mississippi. The hot rod pickup rolls on a set of our Excelsior Stahl Sport radial tires.
The NSRA Street Rod Nationals is more than just hot rods and customs. This beautifully restored 1962 Corvette is a fine example, and it features a set of Goodyear narrow whitewall 670-15 tires.
Heavily chopped and dramatically dropped, this 1951 Mercury is the product of Pot O' Gold Customs in Colorado Springs. The custom caps on the Cadillac style wire wheels are a nice touch, in combination with the wide whitewall tire.s
Speaking of chopped and dropped, this low-slung Model A coupe is a wild one. It features Firestone motorcycle tires up front and giant BFGoodrich Silvertown rears.
We spotted Scott Simpson cruising the fairgrounds in this traditionally styled roadster. This Flathead-powered hot rod has been used on many Coker Tire advertisements, including the side of our 18-wheeler.
When Kaiser came out with the Henry J in 1951, it was never intended for performance, but the lightweight body made them perfect for drag racing. This is the perfect example of a 1960's style gasser with hand-lettering, a tilting front end and Firestone cheater slicks poking out of the radiused wheel openings.
Brandon Good displayed this incredible Cabriolet highboy, a car that features a great collection of vintage speed parts. The Flathead V8 features a SCoT supercharger, and numerous other go-fast goodies from the old days. It rolls on Coker Classic 16-inch radials and original Ford wires from the mid-30s.
Rolling on proper redline tires and optional aluminum wheels, this 1967 Corvette convertible has all the right stuff, including a 427ci big block and side pipes.
Shoebox Chevys are much more common in the gasser ranks, but this Ford looks the part with a straight axle, removed front bumper and old school tire and wheel combo.
This is great usage of a 1949 to 1951 Ford four door, as it really stands out as a Fire Chief's car. Of course, it's rolling on Coker Classic radial whitewall tires.

The heavily customized body on this 1948 Plymouth coupe gives it a distinct look, which is complemented by a set of our Smoothie wheels and American Classic bias look radial whitewall tires.
It's always fun to ride around the fairground and these Georgia boys had it figured out in a 1932 Ford phaeton hot rod.
Even though the early Nova was designed to be an economy car, they make great hot rods. This example is a two-door sedan, which has been lowered over a set of OE steel wheels, dog dish caps and our BFGoodrich Silvertown redline radial tires.
This 1932 Ford five-window coupe is a blast from the past! The beehive oil filter, generator and multi-carb setup speak to the early days of hot rodding, and the wide white bias ply tires with Fiesta caps are the icing on the cake.
427ci big block, Tri-Power, side pipes and a sinister black and red paint combination make this 1967 Corvette a showstopper. Of course, it rolls on authentic redline bias ply tires and aluminum wheels.
A snapshot of the 1970's, this Ford Mustang has all the cool tricks, including a set of our Pro Trac 560-15 and N50-15 tires, wrapped around big and little Cragar S/S wheels.
Subdued color combinations always look cool on an early Ford hot rod, and this 1932 Ford roadster wears it well. Firestone bias ply tires are the perfect option for this open wheel hot rod.
We hope traditional hot rod flames never go out of style, and this shortened hot rod pickup sports a great set. Wide whitewall radials and red steel wheels finish it off.
One of the seldom seen body styles from 1932 is the Ford Victoria. This example has a lowered stance but retains its original body lines. Wide whitewall radials make for a smooth ride on this street rod.
Gerry Burger's 1936 Ford Phaeton has been on the road for a little while, but made its public debut at the Street Rod Nationals. The subtle Ford relies on a set of our Chrome Gennie wheels and American Classic radials.
Early Thunderbirds make great hot rods, but they also look cool in stock form. This example looks great with body-color steel wheels, dog dish caps and a set of our American Classic bias look radial tires.
Rolling on our all-new Coker Classic Star Series radials, this chopped Lincoln lead sled has the perfect 1950's custom look. Frenched headlights, lake pipes and custom bumper treatments finish off the look.
Hot rod pickups are always simple and cool, as evidenced by this black beauty, which features BFGoodrich Silvertown whitewall radial tires.
Chad Adams from Adams Hot Rod Shop built this ultra-slick Model A coupe and used a stout Flathead V8 with electronic fuel injection. The full fendered coupe sits low over a set of Firestone bias ply tires and Gennie wheels for the perfect stance.
