NSRA Street Rod Nationals South--Knoxville, Tennessee
May 13, 2014
The National Street Rod Association (NSRA) has been around since 1970 and it legitimized rod runs in the United States. Coker Tire is the "Official Tire of the NSRA" so we're proud to support its events, and encourage folks to attend the regional events, as well as the BIG ONE...the Street Rod Nationals in Louisville, Kentucky. Since our headquarters is in Chattanooga, Tennessee, our regional event is the Street Rod Nationals South, held at Chilhowee Park in Knoxville, Tennessee.
We didn't have a vendor booth at the Nats South, but we spent the weekend at the show, scoping out feature cars for our advertisements and catalogs. Our ride for the weekend was a family-friendly 1964 Chevy Chevelle four-door sedan, that sits a little lower than stock over a set of 15x6 OE Steel Wheels and dog dish caps. This practical sedan has a 283ci small block topped with a two-barrel carb, and it's a rock solid survivor that has lived it's entire life in Tennessee.
The NSRA Street Rod Nationals South celebrated its 40th anniversary this year, and we couldn't have asked for better weather. Beautiful skies and cool temperatures encouraged a great turnout, so we saw lots of cool stuff rolling on Coker Tire products. From traditional hot rods rolling on Firestone bias ply tires, to muscle cars rolling on BFG Radial T/A tires, we saw a great mix of products on the fairgrounds. Check out some of our favorites vehicles from the event, and be sure to support the NSRA every chance you get!
