The Michelin X 165R400 whitewall radial is a popular tire for vintage European cars with 400mm rim diameter. OE Fitments include 1956 through 1966 Alfa Romeo, 1950 through 1960 Lancia, 1953 through 1965 Citroen, and other European makes and models from the late '50s and early '60s. This tire features a 1.97-inch whitewall and the modern radial construction offers excellent grip in all environments, and a long tread life. The 165R400 sizing designates a metric 400mm wheel fitment and an S Speed rating for safe operation and performance on today's highways. The Michelin X radial features a classic tread pattern and vintage sidewall markings for the ultimate period correct look.
Genuine Narrow Whitewall Tire
Typically wide whitewalls run all the way to the bead. Narrow whitewalls will stop somewhere before the bead, resulting in a narrower band of exposed white rubber. The bright white rubber is added directly to the tire sidewall during initial construction of the carcass, resulting in a truly integrated, high-quality product after vulcanization. This style became popular in the early sixties, eventually replacing wide whitewalls altogether.S Speed Rating
