Ponies in the Smokies is an annual gathering of Ford Mustangs and other cool Fords (Thunderbird, Fairmont and more). We've been watching this event, because it's growing fast and it's right in our back yard! Held at the Sevierville Convention Center in Sevierville, Tennessee, the event offers nearly a full week of Mustang activities. There is autocross racing, drag racing, mountain driving tours, and two full days of car show action, complete with thousands of cars and lots of great vendors. We checked out the 2025 Ponies in the Smokies event, and wanted to show off some of our favorite Coker Tire equipped Mustangs on hand. There were LOTS of Raised White Letter tires and Magnum 500 wheels, that's for sure. Take a look and make plans to join the fun in 2026!
'73 to '78 Mustangs are underrated, but this one is looking great! Tire and wheel upgrades include American Racing Torq Thrust wheels and BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires.You can't go wrong with a set of Firestone Wide Oval tires and Styled Steel wheels. This 1969 Mustang Boss 302 looks awesome in Bright Yellow with black stripes. It rolls on Magnum 500 wheels and Goodyear Polyglas bias ply tires.We have plenty of tire and wheel options for early Mustangs, and this one rolls on a set of our Dual Redline radial tires, wrapped around all-chrome Styled Steel wheels. There are LOTS of customized Mustangs at Ponies in the Smokies...some mild and some wild. This one features a street/strip cominbation with Cragar S/S wheels and M&H drag radials.Sporting a slick "Day 2" look, this 1973 Ford Mustang Mach 1 rolls on slotted mag wheels and extra-wide 60 series BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires.Here's an interesting one. This 1969 Shelby GT500 is beautifully restored and it rolls on ORIGINAL BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires. These are not reproductions!Magnum 500 wheels and Raised White Letter Tires...a combinatin that never goes out of style on a classic Mustang.It isn't often you see a Shelby GT500 Convertible, and this might be the only time you'll see one with a surfboard on top. This one features plain steel wheels and large letter Goodyear tires.Here's another oddity, an all-original Fox platform Ford Mustang, rolling on a set of Michelin TRX metric tires. These were often swapped for conventional 15-inch or 16-inch wheels, but this one still has the 390mm wheels (15.35 inches).
