Coker-Equipped Chevys at the Tri-Five Nationals presented by CPP
The Tri-Five Nationals presented by CPP is the ultimate gathering of classic 1955, 1956 and 1957 Chevys. This event offers more than 2,600 cars, ranging from all-original survivors and restored stockers to all-out customs, gassers, drag cars and more! With the introduction of our new Coker Classic Star Series tire, we decided to make the short trip to Beech Bend Raceway Park in Bowling Green, Kentucky for the three-day event. We had a booth display in the vendor area, where we displayed product as well as the "Star Car" 1957 Chevy. The event was spectacular, with hundreds of Coker equipped cars on the property. Take a look at some of our highlights from the show and be sure to put it on your calendar for next year!
Goodyear wide whitewalls are a great fit on this 1957 Chevy Nomad, which is restored to perfection.
Firestones are the wide whitewall of choice for this 1955 Chevy Nomad.
BFGoodrich Silvertown radial whitewalls offer the classic look and a smooth ride on this 1956 Chevy Nomad.
Believe it or not, the turquoise paint on this 1957 Chevy Bel Air four-door hardtop is original! The well-preserved Chevy rolls on our American Classic bias look radial tires.
You can't go wrong with wide whitewalls on a classic Tri-Five, especially if it's restored to stock configuration. This is a great example.
Wearing a beautiful "root beer" brown color, this 1957 Corvette rolls on a set of our Coker Classic 205/75R15 wide whitewall radial tires.
Custom details from front to back give this 1957 Chevy Bel Air convertible a vintage show car look. The custom creation features chrome American Racing Torq Thrust wheels and BFGoodrich Gold Line Corvette tires.
Bias ply tires offer the proper look on this beautifully restored 1957 Chevy Bel Air two-door hardtop.
Satin black is the perfect hot rod finish and this 1957 Chevy two-door post is definitely a hot rod. It features a set of our Firestone bias ply tires, mounted to magnesium American Racing LeMans front runner wheels.
Black with red guts is a classic combination for a Corvette and this 1957 is hard to beat. It rolls on proper bias ply whitewalls for the period correct look.
A batwing air cleaner is visible under the hood of this 1956 Chevy Bel Air, signifying dual four-barrel carburetors on the 265ci engine. Of course, wide whitewalls finish it off.
If you rewind the clock to the '60s and '70s, cars like this roamed the streets looking for some action on a Saturday night. This example rolls on a set of our Pro Trac bias ply tires, wrapped round Cragar S/S wheels.
Sinister is a good way to describe this black 1955 Chevy two-door station wagon. The red interior and BFGoodrich Redline radial tires work together perfectly.
With a wild two-tone color combination, this 1956 Chevy 210 four door station wagon stands out in the crowd. Authentic bias ply whitewalls do the trick on this wild wagon.
1957 saw some big changes on the Tri-Five platform, and for us tire and wheel guys, it involves a step down to 14-inch wheels. 750-14 bias ply tires came from the factory, but a common upgrade is our 750R14 bias look radials or Coker Classic Star Series 205/75R14.
Undoubtedly the most significant car on the property was this 1957 Corvette, a factory-built road race car. These cars featured big brakes and fuel injection with a specially made air box. This example has a fully documented history, and raced at Pikes Peak in 1964. It is now restored to its stock configuration with Firestone 670-15 blackwalls.
Bright white paint and bright whitewalls look great on this bone stock 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air four-door hardtop.
Classic trucks are allowed at the Tri-Five Nationals, so long as it's a Chevrolet or GMC product from 1955, 1956 or 1957. This one features a mild custom look with Rallye wheels and wide whitewalls.
Coker Classic radial tires are the only modern upgrades on this 1955 Chevy four-door station wagon.
Congratulations to Jimmy Miller for taking home Coker Tire's Best Wide Whitewall Award with his 1957 Corvette. It rolls on a set of Firestone Deluxe Champion 670-15 wide whitewall tires, a perfect fit for a classic Corvette from the Tri-Five era.
